Professors Without Borders Strengthens Partnership with EKSU, Commends Vice-Chancellor's Leadership

Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has received another boost in its international academic collaborations as Professors Without Borders (PROWIBO), a globally recognised non-profit academic organisation, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the university through leadership development, digital skills training, and student empowerment programmes.
The latest engagement marks the third collaboration between PROWIBO and EKSU, further strengthening the long-standing relationship between both institutions.
PROWIBO Begins Five-Day Training Programme at EKSU
The organisation officially flagged off its 2026 five-day training programme during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of EKSU, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele.
The programme is designed to improve leadership and digital competencies among academic staff while exposing students to practical knowledge in areas such as:

Speaking during the visit, Bob Eckhart, Academic Lead of Professors Without Borders, applauded Professor Ayodele for the progress recorded at Ekiti State University since he assumed office.
He described EKSU as an important partner of the organisation and noted that the university has consistently provided a supportive environment for international academic collaborations.
Eckhart encouraged the Vice-Chancellor to continue pursuing policies that will strengthen the university's position among leading higher institutions globally.
He added that experienced international scholars participating in the programme would mentor students, share professional experiences, and expose participants to opportunities that could improve their employability after graduation.
EKSU Reaffirms Commitment to Global Partnerships
Responding to the delegation, Vice-Chancellor Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele expressed appreciation to Professors Without Borders for repeatedly selecting EKSU as the host institution for the initiative in Ekiti State.
He noted that partnerships with reputable international organisations contribute significantly to improving the university's academic reputation, research collaboration, and global visibility.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, such collaborations also play an important role in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the institution.
EKSU Expands Academic Programmes
Professor Ayodele also highlighted some of the university's recent achievements.
He stated that EKSU remains one of Nigeria's leading state universities, with a student population of more than 40,000 and a stable academic calendar.
The Vice-Chancellor further disclosed that the university has commenced Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes in Medicine and is making plans to introduce Aerospace Engineering as part of its efforts to expand academic opportunities and drive innovation.

Professor Ayodele assured the PROWIBO delegation that the university has put all necessary logistics and institutional support in place to ensure the successful delivery of the five-day programme.
He expressed optimism that the training would benefit both staff and students while further strengthening the relationship between EKSU and the international academic community.
